Questions raised by grassroots organizations, partners, and individuals, based on their experiences, concerns, and interactions with GRI.

Who does GRI work with?

GRI partners with grassroots CSOs led by marginalized communities, including Dalits, tribal communities, women, minorities, survivor leaders, and LGBTQI+ individuals, working on issues such as migration, gender justice, caste-based discrimination, and labor rights.

How is GRI’s approach different from other capacity-building programs?

GRI is designed specifically for grassroots organizations. We use simplified tools, provide support in local languages or mother tongues, and work closely with organizations over time, rather than through short-term trainings or one-off workshops.

Where does GRI work?

GRI works with grassroots organizations across India, with a focus on regions and communities that are historically marginalized and under-resourced.

What kind of support does GRI provide?

GRI provides hands-on organizational development support, including governance strengthening, financial management, compliance, fundraising readiness, communication systems, and leadership development.

Does GRI provide funding to partner organizations?

GRI does not primarily function as a grant-making body. Our focus is on strengthening systems and capacities so that organizations are better prepared to mobilize resources, engage donors, and sustain themselves over the long term.

Can individuals or donors support GRI’s work?

Yes. Individuals, institutions, and donors can support GRI by partnering with us, contributing resources, or collaborating to strengthen grassroots organizations across India.
